About Us
We are a christian homeschooling family. We have been homeschooling for 14 years and love the freedom to do educational fieldtrips as they arise!
Over four years ago, we did a Leaf Collection for a Science Project. We pressed our leaves between the pages of a book for 2 weeks, and then found we were unable to identify many of them. We had to toss out all of our leaves and start over again.A few days later, we set out on another leaf hunting expedition. This time we did things differently. We had also searched for new methods of preserving leaves. There was simply nothing out there! The only one we knew of... or could even find, was the one I grew up with... waxed paper!
This book arose out of the need for a good leaf collection guide and leaf preservation method.
After praying about it - how to preserve leaves in all their beauty and splendor, God answered that prayer! We dedicate this book to God and the desire He instilled in us to write it and share it with others.
Again, we do not recommended exposing your preserved leaf collection to fluorescent lighting or direct sunlight for an extended period of time, as this may cause the leaves to fade.
The copyright to our book is available for purchase. Please contact us at: Lake10440@aol.com The first four are letters (LAKE) and the next 5 are all NUMBERS: 10440) . We have been marketing our book over the internet, through homeschool conventions and in person. We have donated hundreds of copies of our book to Homeschools, Private and Public Schools and Christian Schools, Public and Homeschool libraries and through networking. Our desire was to get our book "out there, so the kids could use it"... and make a Great Science Project on a Display Board... keep it for years and add to it every year. Since we are a homeschool family, we do not have the resources to get our book out as much as we would like, and are therefore making our book available for purchase to a publisher. Feel free to contact us at your convenience. God be with and bless you and yours! Darlene Lake
Have a Blessed Day! :)
